When I went to the Pentagon I had to go through security. I
had to get a badge to get into the building. The security was similar to
airport security.
There are 5 floors above ground so it was very easy to get
lost. When I got the right floor I saw all of my family members. My Uncle
Rob was the reason I was there because he was retiring from the US Air Force.
When they started the ceremony they started off with the National Anthem. Then
they went into thanking everyone who was there. Next they gave awards to Uncle
Rob because he has been in the Air Force for 24 years.
The building had a lot of historical pictures. The
ceremony took place in an area with pictures of Medal of Honor winners.
In the middle the Pentagon there is a courtyard with a hot
dog stand (my mom used to eat lunch there!)
The Air Force uniform includes ribbons and medals they have
earned some of the ribbons are flags of places they have been.
It was fun to see and experience the Pentagon.
