We have a classroom library and it has lots and lots of books!  Mr. Wolfe has all sorts of picture books, chapter books, mystery books, and Harry Potter books.  We have something at the end of the day called, Totally Useless Information.  Whenever we're about to go home, Mr. Wolfe tells us 1 useless thing.  One day he told us that a glass ball will bounce higher than a rubber ball.  We play a lot of fun spelling games like KABOOM!  That one is so fun!  This is how we play it, we sit on our desk and Mr. Wolfe gives us spelling words and one person says one letter and if we get it wrong we have to sit back down and wait until the next round.  But, if there are no more letters, we say, KABOOM!

Jake & Kellen's BLOG

Hi, I'm Jake, adn this is Kellen.  We we work to be respectful, safe, kind, and responsible, we can earn Wolfe Bucks.  On Friday, we get an auction.  We get to use Wolfe Bucks to buy things like yo-yo's or bouncy balls.  Mr. Wolfe reads to us after lunch everyday.  Our last book report was on a cereal box.  We got to make the cover of the box look like there was real cereal inside.

Auctions

Our auctions work like this.  Mr. Wolfe takes something out of the auction chest then if you want ot buy the item, you raise your hand and Mr. Wolfe says, "1, 2, 3..." Sometimes it goes up to 20, sometimes even 30.  If you have that many WolfeBucks, and your hand is the last one up, you get the item.  If you don't have that many WolfeBucks because you didn't count your bucks ahead of time, then Mr. Wolfe takes your WolfeBucks and you don't get the item.

Choice Time

Choice time is where we can earn some free time on Friday afternoon.  We get two auctions a month and 2 choice times.  We get to choose which Fridays we want the auction and which ones we get the choice time.  During choice time we can play board games, or math games on the computer, or draw with our friends.  You only can have auction or choice time if your Friday report says your work was all in and your behavior was good for the week.

Essence & Charlotte's Amazing BLOG!

Hi, I'm Essence, and I'm Charlotte.  Every year we have a carnival and play games.  We also do AR points.  When you get 5, 10, 15 then you can get 30 WolfeBucks.  Mr. Wolfe is really funny.  He loves to joke around.  He loves children.  Mr. Wolfe is very kind, he is the best teacher.  We have a student of the week.  They get special jobs.  They also get to do the BLOG that we are doing.  We do fundraisers at Lowell and when we sell a certain amount of things we get prizes.  We just finished having one and we will get school supplies and field trips from it.

Kate & Sierra's Awesome BLOG

Hi, we're Kate & Sierra.  We are going to tell you a little about our school, Lowell Elementary.  Our room is 102, and we're in the  basement.  We have Mr. Wolfe as our teacher. 
We do something in our classroom called Wolfe Bucks.  We also do something called an auction where you can use your Wolfe Bucks to bid on some stuff.  We have a lot of nice and great teachers at Lowell.  We have three specialists.  One is music, one is P.E., the other one is library.  We have 3 classes in each grade.  That all we have to report for now!

Welcome New Lowell Third Graders! 

This is our class BLOG, and I'm glad you found it!  A BLOG is a web log (or journal). It is a collection of thoughts, discussions, and happenings.

Be sure you check with your parents, then with their permission, click on the "comment" section after this post.  Then introduce yourself to your new classmates & me.  This is your first assignment!

Some things you might want to mention are: your first name (only), some of your interests, and what you've been doing & reading this summer. 

For example:

My name is Mr. Wolfe.  I really enjoy spending time with my family.  I also enjoy running and running races (the photo above is of my daughter and me at this year's Seattle Rock & Roll Half Marathon - I have run this race with her the last few years).  I also like hiking, kayaking, family movie nights, and walking our dog.  This summer one of the books I enjoyed was The Thickety by J.A. White. I enjoy books with a lot of suspense & adventure.   I also read quite a few Runner's World magazines.

I look forward to reading your first BLOG comments & meeting you at the Lowell Barbeque on August 31, and then on our first day of school, September 7th!
