Bailey & Tymofiy's Awesome Third Grade Class

We have awesome books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Big Nate, and books about the planets.  At the end of each day before we go to specialist, Mr. Wolfe reads a chapter book to us.  Sometimes he even reads two chapters.  The last book he read was The House on Hackman's Hill.

Hi, this is Tymofiy N.  I like Mr. Wolfe's class because he is awesome and cool.  He gives us Wolfe Bucks and we use them for auctions.  At auctions you can get awesome stuff.  The way you get the awesome stuff is you buy it with your Wolfe Bucks.  Sometimes instead of an auction you can have a free time.  I like our lunch and homework packet too.  The best thing I like about our class are the books.  There are a lot of them.

Maya & Sam's BLOG

In Mr. Wolfe's class you can get Wolfe Bucks.  You can save your Wolfe Bucks and get something at the auctions.

An auction is when you can get cool stuff.  Sometimes instead of auctions you can get free time.  You can't have any missing assignments though, or have a total of 3.  3 strikes and you're out!

We also get to play fun games like spelling basketball.  Mr. Wolfe's class is the best!

Our Class BLOG by the little wolves

Welcome new third graders to Mr. Wolfe's Class!  The first few weeks of school we studied about our planet's geography.  It was called "Where in the World is Edgewood, Washington?"  and to test our memory, we took a test on it.

We also studied the solar system!  Sweet!  We did a new planet everyday.

But how can we forget student of the week and winning tables!  The student of the week gets a lot of privileges.  You also get to do a blog like this one.  Wining table is like a second-hand thing.

We hope you enjoy this year and have fun!

News from AJ - A Former 3rd Grader

Hello Mr. Wolfe,

At Holden Village things are the same because there is playground and a school.  There are some big differences though. The village
gets an average of 310 inches of snow per year because we live up in the Cascade Mountains. There can be 5 feet or more of snow, on the ground January through March. There's just 7 students in my elementary class, but we have one first grader, two fourth graders, two fifth graders, and a sixth grader. In the high school classroom there are four students.  We have two teachers and one assistant too. We don't have snow days because we can just sled to school. Really!  Since we live high up in the mountains we walk everywhere and we can go hiking any time we want.  There is wildlife all around too.  This summer I got to watch two mama deer and their fawns.  They come out to eat on our lawns every evening and we watched the fawns grow and lose their spots.  There are squirrels & chipmunks all over and lots of birds.  And although I haven't seen them, there's bears and cougars around too.

It was good to visit today.  I like school at the village, but I miss Hedden too.

3rd Grade Class

by Brent & Justin

Mr. Wolfe gives us Wolfe Bucks only if we listen, follow directions, & solve problems.  Sometimes you can get a Wolfe Buck if you return your homework.

Every Friday there is an auction or choice time.  For an auction, Mr. Wolfe counts until the last person has their hand up then that person gets the prize.

Mr. Wolfe gives us cursive.  If you are good you might even get Student of the Week.  Mr. Wolfe has high school girls that come and help in our class and we get to meet them.  Mr. Wolfe is the best teacher and he gives you nicknames.

Welcome New 3rd Graders 2012-2013!

Welcome New Third Graders!
I'm glad you found your way to our class BLOG. A BLOG is a web log (or journal). It is a collection of thoughts, discussions, and happenings.
With your parent's permission, click on the "comment" section after this post, and introduce yourself to your new classmates & me.
Some things you might want to mention are: your first name (only), some of your interests, and what you've been doing & reading this summer.
For example:
My name is Mr. Wolfe.  I enjoy spending lots of time with my family.  I also enjoy hiking, running, kayaking, family movie nights, and walking our dog.  This summer I reread the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary; they always make me laugh!
I look forward to reading your first BLOG comments & meeting you at Orientation!  You may bring your school supplies that evening, if you'd like.
Thanks for visiting our class BLOG!

The Three Imaginations

Hey everyone, this is the Three Imaginations and I don’t know about you guys but we played some good April fools jokes. How about you?

I know when you look outside you feel kind of sad, but April showers bring may flowers!

Night of The Notables was great! Here are a couple people that we met, like, Audrey Hepburn, Harry Houdini, Marylyn Monroe, Jonny Appleseed, and Sacagawea.

If you were at Night of The Notables than leave a comment saying who your favorite notable was.

Thank you!

How is it going Hedden Hawks?

Hi Hedden hawks! This is Alla L. and Emily D.  It’s finally spring!
How was Easter? At home, it was actually a big holiday!
Also in school, we got a new number corner calendar. It is about
Fractions. So far we are still figuring out more and more patterns.
Also, we had a whole week off from school. In math, were focusing on
multiplication and division. Also next month, running club starts so
don’t forget. Don’t forget, the M.S.P. starts soon. So be ready and
come to school healthy that day. Don’t come sick.
So… check out our blog more and more often because only 2 more
months of school. How sad? We’ll miss our friends and of course don’t
 forget…
The BEST teacher Mr. Wolfe.

That’s all the time we have! Bye-Bye!

Yes, We're Still Here! (March Update)

I think our student blog reporter teams may be on hiatus, but all kidding aside we've been busy!

We recently concluded a study of Alaska's famous Iditarod Race.  We have been reading the book Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner, and having a lot of fun learning about the history of the race, sled dogs, and more.

In addition we learned a bit more of the history of the race through a fun song.  Today the students revealed that a few of them had made an at-home video complete with a performance.  I enjoyed it a great deal and hope you do as well!

We look forward to your questions & comments!

The "Miss Wolfes"

Hi Peeps!

This is Junie B., Toaster 5000, Anna Banana, and Miss Piggy.  This week we are working on Valentine boxes so peple can decorate it.  Don't forget we can even put GLITTER on it!

We made historical fiction dioramas and now you can look at them in the glass cases across from the office.

This month for February we have a new Number Corner on money.

Don't forget to give us a box of chocolates and a teddy bear!  Bye!

P.S.  We have a new classroom rug and it has the world with all the continents on it!

What's up, Hedden Hawks?!

Hi, this is Irene, Emily D., and Alla!

We had a field trip to the Tacoma Art Museum!  We made Mexican folk art dolls.  We learned that utilitarian means used everyday.  Also, we saw a BIG piece of art.  We saw lots of folk art there!

Also, we made dioramas for our book report.  We are also going to be having a Valentines Party, and we'll be making Valentine's boxes for cards with candy.

Well, we hope you have a great Valentines Day!  Bye-bye!

Irene, Emily D., and Alla

P.S.  Mr. Wolfe is the best teacher in the whole universe!

The Fun Stuff in the Wolfe Class

Hi Hedden Hawks, this is Rylee & Aubry.

We are going on a field trip to the Tacoma Art Museum.  There are five third grade classes in our school, so one had to go alone, that was us!  That means we will get our own private bus.  It is awesome!

Don't forget the Santa Run that Mr. Wolfe ran!  We just got back from Winter Break.  Did you guys have a good Christmas?  Well, we did!

That is all the time we have today.
That is your news.

3WO News

We have exciting news!  We have a new student in Mr. Wolfe's class.  Her name is Stephanie.
We have a field trip coming soon, so don't forget to bring in your money!  We started our lessons in Rocks and Minerals.

Unfortunately, we didn't win the holiday door decorating contest.  We started a new read aloud called Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism.  We have a book report this month, and it is a historical fiction book.

That's all!
